Was the prom scene in HSM3 modeled after Zac's real life prom?

The lavish prom scene in High School Musical 3: Senior Year was actually nothing like the superstar's real prom! "Man, my prom was nothing like this!" Zac laughs. "I had never seen a waltz before I showed up here. And what I thought was a waltz was completely wrong. It's definitely not like my high school prom. It's a little bit more grand. It's fun, it's really cool- it's kind of a fantasy, too."
