Is American Idol getting cancelled?

When Simon and Ellen announced they wouldn't be coming back for the current season of Idol, fans were left wondering if the show was on it's way to being cancelled. Luckily, the different vibe that the new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez have brought to Idol is keeping the show a ratings hit. However, Fox's official statement to M when asked if American Idol was returning was, "No comment." So time will tell on this one. But there is some good news for all you Simon lovers out there- his new show, The X Factor, will be premiering on FOX this fall!
